Starlink Mini: Best for Travel and Backup Internet.
The Mini is the dish we grab first for trips. It fits in a backpack, the Wi-Fi router is built in, and it runs off DC power, so a USB-C power bank or a vehicle outlet is plenty. In our testing at a camp outside Stanley, ID we saw 90 Mbps down, which was plenty for video calls and the kids streaming devices. Setup took 5 minutes from bag to online. We also park this in the sun roof when way of trail.
No complaints from these happy campers.
Gen 3 Standard Pole Mount: Best Mount for the Standard Dish
Built specifically for the Standard Gen 3 dish, so there’s no adapter or shimming. We installed it on the trucks roof durring a long road trip and it held without the dish shifting out of alignment. As a former bracket manufacturer, we love the intergrated design. It just snps right in and will not mar your car's finish.
Watch out for: Proper cable routing. Running it throught the door gasket workd the best.
Starlink Mini USB-C Power Cable: Best Way to Ditch the Wall Brick
This cable runs the Mini straight from a high-output USB-C source, like a power bank or a 100W car charger, so you don’t need the AC adapter. We ran it off the BlueTTI Inverter for 10 hours with no dropouts. It’s compact enough to live in the Mini’s bag.
Watch out for: An under powered USB slot. The dish will not work on a USB source that is under 100W.
Starlink Standard Dish: Best for Home, Rural and Full-Time RV
If you need internet every day rather than on trips, the Standard is the better pick over the Mini, with faster speeds / better performance with many devices in our use. We’ve had ours running in Boise for three years for and we have no complaints.
Watch out For: Make sure the snow melt feature is turned on in the snow fall.
BLUETTI AC180 + 200W Solar Panel: Best Off-Grid Power for the Mini
This 1,152Wh battery with a solar panel is our off-grid setup. On a full charge it ran our Mini for about 20 hours in full sunlight with the 200W panel recharging for about six hours.
Watch out for: The weight and size of the panels. This is great for RV or car camping but not meant for backpacking.
24AWG Replacement Cable for Starlink Standard: Best Extension or Replacement Cable
This works with Standard Gen 3 / V4 / 4X dishes and plugged straight in with no adapters. We used it to replace a chewed cable and saw no speed loss compared to the stock cable.
Make sure to tape off the plug when running through a wall. it must stay protected and clean.

This is the cable we wish we’d had on day one. At almost 33 feet, it lets you park the Mini in open sky while your power source stays in the truck, tent or RV, which matters when trees or the vehicle roof are blocking the view. It has three connection options: My go-to is the USB-C but im all about having a back up.
Since 2021, we've been helping people get Starlink up and running — starting out by manufacturing our own custom brackets and installation kits back when the market for Starlink accessories barely existed. As more options hit the market, we shifted focus: instead of building hardware ourselves, we now search out, test, and recommend the best Starlink accessories available.
We are now an affiliate retailer and as an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. Every product we recommend is tested before it goes on the site — nothing gets a posting from us that we haven't checked ourselves for fit, durability, and real-world performance. That history, from building our own brackets to testing everyone else's, is what lets us point you toward gear that actually solves your installation problem.
Over the years our mission hasn't changed: bringing reliable, high-speed internet to the most remote places on the planet, one solid installation at a time. Browse our shop for our top picks — from Starlink Mini mounts to cable extensions and everything in between.
